Best Sports Website Templates & UI Kits in 2026: An Honest Comparison

Collage of SportyBlocks sports UI components: player cards, scoreboards, standings and team tactics
Sports UI components from SportyBlocks, one of the twelve options compared below

Every sports club, league and esports team needs a website, and the ways to build one have never been more spread out. There are WordPress themes that have been selling since 2014, Tailwind and React kits for developers, no-code builders with a sports category, and club platforms that bundle a site with registration and payments.

We went through around sixty products for this roundup and kept twelve, one for each real way of building a sports site. Every entry lists the price we found on the product page in September 2026, who it fits, and one honest drawback, because every option has one.

Disclosure first: SportyBlocks is our product. Alchemists and Alchemists HTML are themes by Dan Fisher, the maker of SportyBlocks. They are here because they sit at the top of their categories, and they get the same drawback treatment as everyone else.

SportyBlocks

SportyBlocks components overview page with the sports component categories
The SportyBlocks component catalog, September 2026

SportyBlocks is a library of 87 sports UI components for Tailwind CSS 4, each one shipped as React and plain HTML, with light and dark mode and a matching Figma file. Scoreboards, standings tables, player cards, match schedules, results, tickets, head-to-head panels: the parts a club or league page is made of, ready to drop into your own Next.js, Astro or static build.

It costs $49 one-time with lifetime updates, and five components are free with full source and no signup, starting with the scoreboard and the standings table. The license covers one developer or one company, with unlimited end products and unlimited client work.

The honest drawback: it is a component kit, not a finished website. You bring the framework, the data and the pages, so it fits developers and agencies, not a club secretary with a free weekend.

Alchemists

The WordPress theme Alchemists is built for sports clubs, esports teams and sports news sites. It runs on SportsPress for fixtures, standings and player profiles, bundles WPBakery and Slider Revolution, and ships six demos. It has been around since 2017, holds a 4.94 rating from 140 reviews on ThemeForest, and was last updated in September 2026.

It is sold direct by the author at $59 a year or $179 lifetime, and it is also listed on ThemeForest at $99. The drawback: it is a WPBakery theme. That is fine if you already work that way, but there is no Elementor or block-editor version, so teams committed to those builders should look elsewhere. It is also a large theme, so plan an afternoon for the setup rather than an hour.

Splash

The best-selling club theme on ThemeForest is Splash by StylemixThemes, with 5,490 sales since 2016 and five demos covering football, basketball and multi-sport clubs. It runs on WPBakery and SportsPress, costs $59, and was updated in May 2026.

The drawback: with a 4.40 rating it is the lowest-rated theme in this list, and its compatibility tags stop at WordPress 6.5. Read the recent comments before you buy, because the theme's WPBakery updates have lagged behind the plugin's security patches.

Real Soccer

The other five-thousand seller is Real Soccer by GoodLayers, with 5,322 sales, and it is the main choice if you do not want SportsPress at all. It ships its own league, fixtures and player system inside the theme, on the GoodLayers page builder, for $79. It was updated in August 2026.

The drawback: it is a twelve-year-old codebase with proprietary data. Your fixtures and results live in the theme's own post types, so moving to another theme later means entering them again.

FC United

For Elementor users there is FC United by ThemeREX, the one Elementor-first club theme with real traction: 2,453 sales, a 4.89 rating, updated in August 2026. It is SportsPress compatible, includes WooCommerce, and has demos for football, cricket, golf and esports, for $79.

The drawback: the theme's last major version jump broke content and child themes for some buyers, and support waits of three to six days come up in the comments.

SportsPress and ThemeBoy themes

Most of the themes above depend on SportsPress, the free WordPress plugin. It handles fixtures and results, automated standings, player statistics, calendars and CSV import, with presets for 21 sports and three esports titles. It has more than 10,000 active installs and a 4.7 rating on WordPress.org.

The paid SportsPress Pro adds scoreboards, match statistics, tournaments, sponsors and team access at $99 for one site, $199 for unlimited sites, or $499 lifetime, with renewals at half price. ThemeBoy's own themes start with Rookie, which is free, and go to $59 for the premium ones such as Rookie Plus, Varsity, Premier and Football Club.

The drawback: SportsPress is a data engine, not a design. Your site looks like whichever theme you put on top, and the Pro licence is a yearly cost.

Alchemists HTML

Alchemists HTML template, soccer demo homepage
Screenshot of the Alchemists HTML soccer demo, September 2026

The static version of the theme above is Alchemists HTML: a Bootstrap 4 template with more than 240 HTML pages across five sport versions, plus the PSD sources, for $39. It has 2,322 sales and a 4.87 rating, and it was updated in October 2025.

That last date matters. It is the only sports HTML template on ThemeForest updated in the past eighteen months. The rest of the category stopped between 2016 and 2021, which is worth knowing before you spend $19 on a bargain that still ships jQuery 1.12.

The drawback: Bootstrap 4 is a previous-generation stack, and 240 pages is a lot of code to prune down to the fifteen a club needs.

Generic UI kits

Tailwind Plus website after the Shopify acquisition
Tailwind Plus, closed to new customers since September 9, 2026

When nothing sports-specific fits, a developer reaches for a generic kit. shadcn/ui and daisyUI are free under MIT licences, Flowbite Pro is the main paid option, and Tailwind Plus, formerly Tailwind UI, was the reference kit until this month. Shopify acquired Tailwind Labs on September 9, 2026, and sign-ups for Tailwind Plus closed the same day; existing customers keep their access. If you own a licence, it still does the job. If you don't, start with shadcn/ui.

The drawback: none of it is sports. Every scoreboard, standings table and player card still has to be built from scratch. In practice many developers combine a generic kit for navigation, forms and pricing with SportyBlocks for the sports pages.

Webflow templates

Webflow's sports templates, led by Football 128 and Ballin 128 from 128.digital at $79 each, give a club a real CMS without a developer. Fixtures, results and the squad live in CMS collections that a committee member can edit once someone has set them up. Add a Webflow site plan: Basic at $15 a month or Premium at $25 a month on yearly billing, and you need Premium for the CMS.

The drawback: the site is locked to Webflow hosting, and the first weekend of CMS setup needs someone technical.

Framer sports templates

Framer Marketplace sports templates category

Framer's marketplace is the one place where club and academy designs dominate the sports category instead of gyms and yoga studios. Of its 25 sports templates, 14 are free and the paid ones run from $19 to $99. Hosting is free with Framer branding, then $10 a month for Basic or $30 for Pro on yearly billing.

The drawback: Basic allows two CMS collections, which is too tight for fixtures, results and a squad, so Pro is the realistic plan. Like Webflow, you cannot take the site elsewhere later.

Wix and Squarespace

Wix and Squarespace are the default for volunteer-run clubs, and for a brochure site they are hard to beat: a page for the club, the pitch, contact details and a news feed, live in an evening. Wix Core costs $29 a month on an annual plan (Light is $17, and there is a free tier with ads). Squarespace Core costs $29 a month on an annual plan, or $39 month to month, with Basic at $19 and $25 on the same terms. Both have a handful of team and club templates.

The drawback: neither has a data model for fixtures, standings, rosters or registration. Results get typed into a text block every week, and if you leave, there is no site export.

Club platforms

Pitchero homepage
Pitchero's homepage, September 2026

Club platforms bundle the website with the operations: fixtures, results, league tables, membership, registration and payments on day one. Pitchero leads in the UK, with a free tier for one team, Standard at £38 a month and Pro at £99, plus payment fees from 2.42% + 17p. Jersey Watch is the US equivalent at $29 a month on an annual plan, with 3.5% + $1 per online payment. Spond is free anywhere for the team app, and its club website costs $19.95 a month after a twelve-month trial. Larger organisations look at SportsEngine HQ ($67 a month plus 3.25% + $1.50 per transaction) or TeamSnap, which quotes per organisation.

The drawback: the design is templated, the data lives with the vendor, and over three years the transaction fees on a mid-sized club's registrations often cost more than the subscription itself.

Free sports website templates

Colorlib Soccer free HTML template demo

For a zero budget there are older HTML templates: Colorlib's Soccer and Knights (free with a footer credit, $19 to remove it), html.design's Sportpar and 28 more free sports templates ($5 for an attribution-free licence), and TemplateMo's Sport Center from 2010, with no restrictions and no responsive layout. On our side, the five free SportyBlocks components come with full source and no signup.

The drawback: most of this code is 2016 to 2020 vintage jQuery, and none of it does fixtures or standings beyond a static table.

How to choose

The right pick depends less on the product than on who will maintain the site. Five situations cover most clubs:

  1. Volunteer-run club, nobody technical, registration and payments needed. A club platform: Pitchero in the UK, Jersey Watch or TeamSnap in the US, Spond anywhere. Accept the templated design and the per-transaction fees, and get everything working this week.
  2. A WordPress site and a freelancer. SportsPress for the data and a theme on top: Alchemists for a news-heavy club site, Splash for a multi-sport club, FC United if the freelancer works in Elementor.
  3. A developer or agency building a custom site in React, Next.js, Astro or plain HTML. SportyBlocks for the sports pages, shadcn/ui or another generic kit for the rest. You own the code, host anywhere, and pay no monthly fee.
  4. A design-led academy or marketing site with a technical volunteer. A Framer or Webflow template, on the plan that includes the CMS.
  5. Zero budget. A free template with the credit line, a free Spond or TeamSnap tier for the operations, and the free SportyBlocks components if someone can code.

Esports teams have their own corner. PlayerX is the biggest esports WordPress theme with 3,047 sales, though it has not been updated in eleven months, Gameco is a Tailwind HTML template at $29, and Necromancers (another Dan Fisher theme, so disclosed) pairs SportsPress rosters with a WooCommerce shop at $99.

What it costs over three years

Sticker prices hide the pattern. This is what each route costs over three years, with a domain (about $15 a year) and any developer time on top of every row.

RouteWhat you payThree-year total
WordPress theme + SportsPress$59 to $99 for the theme, $5 to $15 a month for hosting, SportsPress Pro $99 then half price to renew$240 to $840
SportyBlocks + your own build$49 once, hosting from free to $20 a month$49 to $770
Webflow or Framer template$0 to $99 for the template, $10 to $30 a month for the plan with a CMS$360 to $1,180
Wix or Squarespace$17 to $29 a month$610 to $1,050
Club platform$29 to $67 a month (or £38 in the UK), plus 2.4% to 3.5% and $0.20 to $1.50 per payment$1,040 to $2,410 plus fees

The platform row is not a bad deal. It is the only row where the sports operations are included, and for a club processing registrations the fees are the price of not running a payment system yourself. The point is to know which row you are choosing.

Frequently asked questions

Where to start

If you can code, start with the five free components: a scoreboard, a player card, a standings table, player stats and match results, each with full HTML and React source and no signup. If you cannot, pick your row from the scenarios above. For most volunteer-run clubs a platform or a WordPress theme is the honest answer, and SportyBlocks is for the teams and agencies that want a site of their own.
